Masimo Selects SmartSat for Motion, Low Perfusion and Ambient Light Performance Comparisons

WALLINGFORD, CT - Clinical Dynamics is proud to announce that Masimo has selected the SmartSat™ Pulse Oximetry Analyzer for use in motion, low perfusion and ambient light performance comparisons for clinicians and clinical engineers on the different technologies available in pulse oximetry.

SmartSat was selected by Dr. Gary L Clawson, Director of Clinical and Professional Development, after a thorough evaluation of the available pulse oximeter simulators.

"We are thrilled that Dr. Clawson has selected our SmartSat for providing technology presentations and field support of Masimo’s pulse oximetry technologies. This was done after a thorough evaluation of its simulation accuracy, portability and programmable autosequences. The SmartSats have been programmed with autosequences to demonstrate Masimo’s technologies versus competitors’ products. This gives Masimo a professional and unbiased demonstration of their technologies which customers appreciate" stated Joseph Rebot, Vice President, Marketing and Sales for Clinical Dynamics Corporation.

Clinical Dynamics designs, manufactures and markets NIBP and SpO2 simulators that are used by leading patient monitoring manufacturers, hospital biomedical engineering departments and independent service organizations. They provide NIBP and SpO2 simulators for product development, technical support, production/quality control, field service, and custom simulators. Clinical Dynamics' NIBP and SpO2 simulators are the industry's only manufacturer-certified simulators, the most accurate simulators available for patient monitor testing.

Masimo develops innovative monitoring technologies that significantly improve patient care - helping solve "unsolvable" problems. In 1995, the company debuted Read-Through Motion and Low Perfusion pulse oximetry, known as SET, and with it virtually eliminated false alarms and increased pulse oximetry's ability to detect life-threatening events. Over 70 independent clinical studies have confirmed that Masimo SET technology allows clinicians to accurately monitor blood oxygen saturation in critical care situations.
